Thanksgiving was great. I was so worried that I would be alone for Thanksgiving, but I wasn't. I woke up after a great nights rest. I was relaxed and excited to have a calm and lazy Thanksgiving. I texted my friend and let him know that he could come over whenever he was ready.

While I waited, I started the Turkey and pumpkin pies. Before I put everything in the oven, there was a knock on my front door. My friend was over and that was when our Firefly marathon started. We watched the show while everything cooked. When I realized that I was going to have an extra person for Thanksgiving, we decided to make our way to Walmart. I wanted to get potatoes for mashed potatoes.

Yes. We ventured to the grocery store on Thanksgiving. There was hardly anybody there. Which was perfect.

When we got back home, the Firefly marathon continued. We ended up finishing the season which cued us to start our Thanksgiving dinner. Before we dug in, we took a few minutes to say what we were thankful for. It was such a heartfelt moment.

That night, it wasn't hard for me to fall asleep. I felt at peace. Maybe it was the turkey. BUT I want to believe that it was the conversations that me and my friend had before dinner.

... Then I woke up this morning.

I thought this day would never end. I woke up exhausted and dreading this day of work. I wanted to keep celebrating Thanksgiving and stuffing my face! Work was slow and the time crept by.

One of my favorite coworkers put in his two weeks notice two weeks ago and today was his last day. So hard. I hate goodbyes.

I realized that yesterday's post never published. Why?

...and the day finally ended.

Feels good to be home...

PS... It's funny how my attitude went from grateful/ thankful/ optimistic to pessimistic overnight.

I seem to have left something out of the list. Something worth mentioning...

I am thankful for this blogging world. This blog. YOU!

Ms. Grumpy Pants.

I woke up early to take Colon to the airport before work. Colon waited until AFTER I WAS DRESSED to tell me he will take himself to the airport. Sucks that I can't just go back to bed!

Work was stressful and I just was not into it today. I was dragging my feet.

After work, I had a coworker help me drive to the airport and pick up Colon's car. I totally forgot that there would be Thanksgiving travel traffic at the airport.

Colon told me he parked his car in the West Economy parking lot. After searching the WHOLE parking lot, we FINALLY found an attendant. He let us know that the parking space number could also be in the East Economy lot. After making our way through the airport traffic, we found Colon's car in the East Economy parking lot.

Total time it took us to find his car: 45 minutes.

Now, I am going to relax and have a great night.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I want to make sure I start that day in optimism!

A weekend to remember...

This weekend was amazing.
Colon's parents were in town and we made sure to show them a good time.

They arrived late on Thursday night. I was not able to greet them because I had an early start to Friday (aka.... Friday meetings. Not fun!)

Friday started off like any other Friday. Excited about the weekend but begrudging the fact that I have to wake up for the Friday meetings. Work was actually tolerable. Long but tolerable. I was able to make it out by 6:30 and arrived home to see Colon and his parents hanging out. They were waiting for me to get home so we can head out to dinner.

We ended up having dinner at The Roaring Fork. Colon and I went there once before and were amazed by how delicious the food is. The portions are HUGE and the price is great for the portion sizes!

After dinner, we all went straight to bed. We has our tummies full and were exhausted from the day. Plus we planned on getting up early to start the weekend adventures.

Would you be surprised if I told you that getting up early was a fail? We ended up getting up at around 9. Then we had to take the time to pack clothes for the cold weather. We knew Sedona would be cold and we heard that Flagstaff had snow. Once we had everything ready, we headed out.

Let me warn you. A recurring theme of the weekend was car sickness. I LOVE car rides and drives but get extremely sick in the back seat. That is why I always got the front seat when I traveled with my family. It was not the case this weekend.

It was hard for me to enjoy the scenery on the way to Sedona and Flagstaff. It was kind of miserable.

But that is OK.

Once we got out of the cars, I had a blast.

Our first stop was Sedona. We hiked a couple of trails and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I even heard about the "vortexes" and their healing powers from fellow hikers.

DO you know anything about that? I had never heard of it. People were freaking out when they saw two little water spouts from between the rocks that were cause by hydro-static pressure. Supposedly that is a good sign!

Sedona just leaves me in awe. So beautiful.

We ended up driving through the main part of town and having lunch at Wildflower. It was cold out and the soup was a great way to suppress our hunger and warm up. We were going to head straight to Flagstaff, but I wanted to visit a trading post that we visited the last time we came to Sedona.

The place is called Clear Creek Trading Company. Go ahead. Click on the link. Look at all of the cool stuff they have. They have so much more in the store. I could spend hours in there and could spend so much money at the store! I ended up buying my sisters and mothers Christmas gifts! I am excited to give it to them.

Once we finished up at the store, we made our way to Flagstaff. SNOW! I was so excited.

There was light snow as we got closer to Flagstaff! Once we got into town, we decided to walk around the downtown area. We ended up at a shopping center and went inside because it was so cold. Plus, we have to remember that Colon's parents are from Miami. They aren't used to the cold.

One of the stores that we visited was P.J. Chilcottage. One of the last times we were in Flagstaff (earlier this year), we stopped in this store. I fell in love with everything that the store had. The clothes were cute. The accessories were right up my alley. I couldn't help but buy something last time and I sure as hell couldn't help it this time. I ended up buying a few bow-headbands and a solid perfume.

After we shopped, we headed to our favorite Thai restaurant, Pato Thai Cuisine,  in Flagstaff. We have visited this restaurant during every Flagstaff trip and thought it would be fitting to take Colon's parents to eat there. I can still remember the first (I briefly mention it in that link) time we ate there.

That night, everyone passed out. Except for me. I kept waking throughout teh night because the bed was uncomfortable and I was freezing. By the time it was waking time, my eyes had bags under them and I was ready to head back to Pheonix.

That went away, though. Colon took us up the mountain to Snowbowl and we played in the snow for quite a while. It was amazing.

I want to live in the snow now!

But, all trips must come to an end. We had to make our way back Phoenix. We made a pit stop in Flagstaff and then trekked back to Phoenix.

Colon's parents then caught their flight and Colon and I were once again alone. We slept well last night and pretty much recovered.

He had an amazing birthday. We had a memorable weekend.

I had today off.

Work starts tomorrow. Back to the real world.

Colon leaves for California on Wednesday. He has a retirement party to go to. So, I will be here for Thanksgiving.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I sure did!

That is what I do to books.

I devour them.

It's insane. I have finished 5 books in the last week or two. I know you are probably sick of my reading list. I promise I am not bragging. I do this for those people that want a few suggestions for their reading list!

Most of the books on today's list are historical fictions set in England/ France. They mostly have to do with the Yorks, Lancaster's and the Tudors. I love English history and love the way that authors give personalities to those people that helped shape England.

I would definitely recommend these books!

Her Highness the Traitor- Susan Higginbotham
Mistress of Mourning- Karen Harper
Susanna and the Spy- Anna Elliot
The Queen of Last Hopes- Susan Higginbotham
The Tent- Margaret Atwood

Get to reading people! There is so much you are missing out on!

A week ago, I was nominated for the Sunshine Award. I had so much fun answering the questions that Decoybetty posed. I also had fun coming up with questions to ask for those that I tagged. I thought it would be fun to answer the questions that I came up with.

It's only fair!

1. Growing up, which parent were you the closest to? Did this change at any time?

I was always closer to my dad growing up. Although he enforced rules, he was easier to talk to. More accepting. He listened to us. My mom was more controlling.

As we got older, I think the roles changed.

Now, I wish I was closer to both of my parents. I am the person that is keeping myself distant. I want to change that.

2. Do you believe in "Love at first sight?" Do you think it happens?

I honestly do not know if I beleive in it or not. I did not experience it. So, for now, I will attribute "love at first sight" to books!

3. What period of history is your favorite? Why?

I would say the Tudor era in England. The clothing. The drama. So much fun. Deadly. But fun!

(If you see the books I read, then this answer wouldn't surprise you!)

4. If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be?

My eyebrows. They HAVE to be tamed every week and a half. If they aren't, I start to look like a lion!

5. What is your favorite fast food place?

In-N-Out. So yummy! I don't know how I lived 15 years without it. The East coast needs to get with it!

6. If you could live in any country, where would you live? If it isn't the country you currently live in, why did you choose another country?

I love living in the US. If I couldn't live here, I would probably chose England or France. I Love the history of the countries and would spend my days visiting areas with rich history!

7. How many kids do you want to have? Boys? Girls?

I want at least 2 kids. I would like to have one boy and one girl. At least one of each gender!

8. Can you do a push up?

It's so sad. I cannot!

9. Who is the most influential person in your life? How have they influenced you?

I would say my parents. They both have gone through so much and have given up things for each of their children. They keep me going and inspire me to be the best person I can be!

10. Why did you start blogging? Has your motivation for blogging changed as time goes on?

My answer is here!

And cut!

I will be updating about this weekend spent with Colon's parents really soon!

It's everywhere.

At work.
At school.
At home.
In the blog world.
In this part of the world.
In that part of the world.

Amongst women.
Amongst men.

Who has the best numbers?
Who has the best grades?
How many do you have?
Is that a designer bag?
How big is your house?
How long is your hair?
How pretty is she?
How much money do you have?
What is your degree in?
How many followers do you have?
How many kids do you have?
What kind of car do you have?
How about your phone?
Oh, you don't get your nails done everyday?

Some people are ruthless.

...and mean.

Some people don't care about anyone but themselves.

Some people will do anything to get ahead.

It's sad.
It's annoying.
It's rude.
It's selfish.

I am sick of it!

Rant over.

Just enjoy the world and be happy.

...that tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Colon's parents are coming in tonight. I am excited. The house is clean as clean as I can make it.

We're going to have fun this weekend!
PLUS the Day of the Doctor plays this weekend.

AND it's Colon's birthday on Saturday.

I leave you with these two gems!

Girls can be engineers too! Awesome commercial!
Tears under a microscope.

Onesies and Whos....

I am finally home!

Such a long day yet it was a great day. I woke up with energy and was ready for whatever the day brought.

I totally forgot that today was going to be extra long!

Every quarter, my company has a "Market rally" where they have each team do something fun. this year the "fun" thing was a 3 minute movie. We were allowed to pick the theme, but we had to incorporate everyone within the team. So, in the spirit of Christmas, we chose to do The Grinch...

... and we got to dress as Whos!

So, after work we donned our onesies, fluffed and braided our hair, put on massive amounts of blush and started filming.

I have come to the conclusion that onesies are awesome!

Oh and it's the end of Wednesday! The week ends in a couple of days and Colon's parents come tomorrow! Eek.

Just another day...

I get to relax.
Today was a crazy day.
I had a late start to my work day.
But I still had errands to run before my work day could begin.

I even got my eyebrows done. I was looking pretty rough!

My work day went smoothly.
Except for the fact that the girl that did not show up on Saturday, no called-no showed today.
She then quit.
So annoying.

After work, Colon and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch his team (Ecuador) play a match.
I love wings and was excited to scarf down.
It was fun meeting his friends, too!

While we were watching the game, I kept looking at COlon's face because something seemed different.

I looked.

I kept looking.

I stared.

And finally, I figured it out. His facial hair is longer and thicker. NO BUENO! Not a fan. He doesn't look bad, but I know he will be rubbing his face on my cheek because he knows how much it annoys me later.

Now I am ready to pass out!
Maybe read a few chapters of my book.

Sorry I have been so uninteresting lately.

Can it be Friday yet?

I can already tell that this week is going to be loooooong!

Today dragged by and it took everything in me to keep going!

Colon's parents come in Thursday night and his birthday is this weekend! I am totally excited for the fun we are going to have! Plus... Colon will be 26!

Since it's Monday and I do not have much to say, I will just leave you with a couple of interesting links.

I wish my parents put me in gymnastics! Flexibility would be awesome!
And look who wins the nuclear award! The cold war was fun! Yeah right!
(How many exclamation points am I going to use in this post?)
I knew smart phones were good for something!
Con men and the new health care regulations...
Pray for the Philippines!
Exercise and how it helps babies brains!
No more hangovers? I'm down!
Facebook vs messaging apps
Is the Pope leaving out Conservative Catholics? Interesting.

Hopefully I have something interesting for tomorrow!

Basketball games and tater tots...

1. An amazing book!
2. Are silent farts worse?
3. Colon. No shave November.
4. I hate No Shave November
5. Tater Tots! Sonic
Sunday night.
Why do they come so fast?
I need another day of rest!

This weekend was relaxing and uneventful. But the week ended with excitement. It started with Friday night. I rushed home from work because  Colon won tickets to the Suns vs Nets game. I was so excited because this would be my first ever basketball game (NBA).

It was so much fun. I loved hearing the fans screaming and being crazy. I usually can't watch basketball but it is different watching a game in person. The game was intense. Points were back and forth and the game even went into overtime. I am so glad that I am not invested in any of the teams because I would have had a heart attack!

After the game, Colon and I went and picked up Sonic for dinner! Tater tots!

I don't know if it was the Tater tots or the excitement of the game, but I could not sleep that night. I fell asleep quickly but ended up waking at 1 AM.  Tossing and turning. I could not get back to bed. It was horrible because I had obligations in the morning and had to leave my house by 8. I picked up my Kindle and read until I fell asleep (around 5AM). I was so tired in the morning. And was miserable throughout the day during work/ volunteering.

I do have to say that  it annoys me when people do not show up for things when they sign up for them. I was tired and grouchy on Saturday and that only made me grouchier.

Anyways, after work I headed home in time to watch the Gator football game with Colon. It was disappointing at times and I ended up falling asleep by 7:30- 8PM. I slept the rest of the night.

...And didn't wake until 9AM this morning. I was tired!

Once we woke up, we started the household chores. Laundry was started. The floors were vacuumed and mopped. The kitchen counters were cleaned. Bathrooms were cleaned. Everything was wiped down for the impending visit from Colon's parents. They will be here on Thursday night and I want to make sure everything is spotless!

I forgot to mention that I watched The Hunger Games. FINALLY. The books were ten times better!

I also am obsessed with the ABC Family cheesy Christmas movies and was excited to see that some of them are on Netflix. So I watched a couple of them during my cleaning day.

It was a great weekend. I hope this week goes fast cause I am excited for next weekend and the visit from Colon's parents.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Everyone needs a little bit of sunshine in their life!

I was so excited when I started reading blogs yesterday and came across a gem.

One of my favorite things about blogging is the friends that I have made. I have learned so much and have met some awesome people.

Decoybetty is one of my favorites and she nominated me for an award! Oh yeah!

The Rules

1. Include the award logo in your post.
2. Link to the person who nominated you
3. Answer 10 questions about yourself.
4. Nominate 10 bloggers to receive the award. Link the nominees to your post and notify them!

The Questions

1. When life gets busy, how do you stay motivated (particularly to blog, but just in general as well)?

I love making lists. So, I will do things on my list (I use! Great app!) I cannot stand to leave things on my list!

2. What recipe is like "your thing" the thing you make really well and your friends always ask you to make?

I am a horrible cook. I am notorious for NOT cooking!

I just have to be honest!

3. You are throwing a blogger dinner party, which five bloggers would you invite?

Look at the list of the people I nominated. I would invite numbers 4,6,9,11,12. If I could there would be no limit. But I had to choose.

lol... Kind of feel like a mean girl!

4. When the dentist asks you "Have you been flossing every day" and you say "yes, of course!" are you lying?

I feel bad! I hate lying.

5. If you have a life list type of thing, what are the top five things you really want to tick off in the next year? (And if you don't, what are some of the things you want to accomplish next year).

Funny that I do not have a list like this.
Hmm... I have to think about this one.

~I know I am going to have a reading challenge for next year. I definitely want to reach at least 24 books!
~I want to learn a programming language and take it seriously.
~I want to build up my personal (and joint) savings! So important.

6. We all say we love to receive letters, so what's the one thing that inhibits you from writing and mailing them?

Buying stamps. I HATE doing it! I am so lazy!

7. What's your guilty pleasure? (TV, book, movie, snack?)

Chocolate. Put a bowl of chocolate in front of me and it will be GONE. No self control when it comes to chocolate!

Also, books. I walk into a bookstore and want to buy EVERYTHING!

8. What is your favourite thing to clean around the house and why?

The bathroom. I have no idea why. All I know is I LOVE using Scrubbing Bubbles!

9. What does Thanksgiving day at your family look like? (And if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, tell us about your favourite holiday)

When I was younger (before I turned 18), it usually was spent with my mom's family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc). We would plan the dinner at one of the houses. If we were hosting, we would spend the whole day helping my mom prepare. By "helping my mom prepare" I mean that my sisters and I would do one or two things like gather the ingredients and then we would watch Christmas movies on tv, read books, talk. My poor mom would do EVERYTHING.

Once everything was done, everyone would come over. The cousins would eat first. Once we were done, the parents would eat and the cousins would do things on their own. I miss those times.

No that we are all grown up, I spend Thanksgiving with whoever is in town. Last Thanksgiving I was lucky. My mother and sisters came into town. So I hosted it!

10. What is the most liberating thing you've ever done? And why?

Graduating from college. It made me feel so important. Like I am meant to be something.

Now I just have to go back and get my PhD...

Who do I nominate?
1. At the Glass Ranch
2. Everyday is a New Adventure
3. His Little Lady
4. Rolled Up Pretty
5. NiftyBa!
6. Charismatic Concepts
7. Crowley Party
8. Entirely my Own
9. Tragic and Lovely
10. Why Story
11. Why Girls are Weird

last but not least...

12. Decoybetty

I had to add her! She is awesome!

So... go check out their blogs and see what their answers are to MY questions:

1. Growing up, which parent were you the closest to? Did this change at any time?
2. Do you believe in "Love at first sight?" Do you think it happens?
3. What period of history is your favorite? Why?
4. If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be?
5. What is your favorite fast food place?
6. If you could live in any country, where would you live? If it isn't the country you currently live in, why did you choose another country?
7. How many kids do you want to have? Boys? Girls?
8. Can you do a push up?***
9. Who is the most influential person in your life? How have they influenced you?
10. I nominated you because I love your blog. Why did you start blogging? Has your motivation for blogging changed as time goes on?

Happy Friday y'all!
Enjoy it!

***I can't. So sad.

On this day...

...last year, Colon and I were still living in Florida.

We had just celebrated five and a half years together.

Colon was at a conference. I was in Gainesville and missing him while he was gone. We had attended a friends wedding in Orlando a few days before and we made it a point to visit the parks. It was great because I finally got to go to Harry Potter world. I got my first wand and had my first taste of butterbeer. It was amazing.

I was contemplating the move to Arizona.

So many things were happening.

I thought I would reminisce here on the blog. Kind of my version of Throwback Thursday (blog style).

After opening my post from this same day last year, I became obsessed with Pentatonix.

Maybe it's because I love Christmas.

But then... I listened to some of their other songs...

Love the original song by Gotye. They put a new twist to this one!

There's more. Just go to their Youtube site! You will love them!

Before I go.

Please pray for those that were affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Look at the recorded windspeeds...

Such a beautiful video of twins!
I would totally like to host/ participate in another Short Story Challenge.
Would you?
Let me know!

Oh and I got the blog's Facebook page up. Like it?

Get ready for the end of the week y'all!

A few randoms

OK. I have to comment on how fast this week is flying by!  I am so happy that it is because I cannot wait to relax and have time to myself this weekend!

Next weekend, Colon's parents are coming into town. I am so excited and so nervous at the same time. Visitors always stress me out. The house has to be perfect. I have to make sure everything is clean and put together. That will be one thing I make sure to do this weekend.

Right at this moment, there is a huge pile of clothes building up in my laundry room. It sucks! Every time I pass by it, it seems to call out, "CLEAN ME ALREADY!". No bueno!

I keep seeing articles about the typhoon that hit the Philippines. My mother is Filipina and she still has a few nieces and nephews that live there. They are OK but I still feel the need to do something. It is terrible and so sad. I pray and I hope.

I was able to talk to my sister and dad last night. It felt great to speak to them. I got to catch up and found out some secrets about another sibling. I am waiting for them to tell me their secret!

I am dying to continue reading my books so I am going to peace out!

Love you all!

PS... I am working on a new Facebook page. I have no idea what I am doing. Assistance would be appreciated!

1. I am amazed by the comments, emails, texts, etc that I received from yesterday's post. They reminded me why I blog and I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

2. I am currently having withdrawals from reading Mistress of Mourning by Karen Harper. The book is so good and it was so hard for me to put it down to write this post.

3. I love my job. I love my coworkers. BUT today I was just not feeling it. One coworker was spot on today. He knew how to push my buttons and was working my nerves ALL DAY. It took everything for me to keep my mouth shut!

4. Spaghetti is so yummy! (random...I know)

5. I have been on a Tumblr binge lately!

6. I have been missing my Florida coworkers lately. I am loving all of the back and forth texts, emails, Tweets, and other messages that I have been receiving. My heart will forever be with Florida. (Go Gators...I just had to throw that in there!)

7. I am trying to make an effort with phone calls and keeping in touch. I am horrible at it and need to get better! I at least want to make sure I am responding to emails and texts. So important!

Just for fun...
I will leave you with a couple of links...

I just hope...

Today, I was able to do my daily blog reading earlier than usual.

I was surprised to see how many posts I saw about relationships, marriages, etc. It was kind of painful to read all of the posts. If I would have read them a couple of months ago, I don't think it would have been as painful and uncomfortable. But times have changed.

You see, Colon and I have been together for awhile. We started dating our freshman year of college. We lived in Gainesville and while there we had our ups and downs. But overall, we were a great couple. We are completely different but seem to balance each other out.

Throughout college, he went on several internships out of state and we did go through several bouts of long-distance.

But we survived through that. About this time last year, we were planning our move to Arizona. Colon got a job out here and we considered the move. So, we moved. It was a high in our relationship. We were so in love and everything seemed so magical.

Once out here, things seemed to be going well. But then, the magic just went away. We started to crumble and things came to a head the last few months. I was so lost. I had no idea what happened. Things just changed all of a sudden. Words were said. Things we I regret saying. I cannot say "we" because I don't know if he regrets them. He meant them. They were the truth. Whatever.

We became too complacent. Took each other for granted. Me more than him. I will take a lot of the blame.

We spent TOO much time together. Yet we didn't spend enough quality time together.

It got bad. I didn't know who to talk to. All aspects of my life became worse. Work was more stressful. I was pushing away friends and family. I didn't have anyone to talk to.

My best friend became my enemy.

That was the worst part.

I did not have the courage to blog about it. Somehow, writing about our troubles seemed like putting a stamp on my failure. I just could not do it.

But I finally decided to talk to friends. I started doing things on my own and started having fun.

Somehow, Colon and I started hanging out more. Including each other in our outings. Working out together. Eating together. Going out together. Things are slowly getting better. We have not had huge fights and have I have been feeling ten times better.

I don't know what the future holds for us. But I hope it's ten times better than the last few months that we've had. I just hope I learned from the issues we had.

I just hope...

Oh no...

It's Sunday. That means there's work tomo....

No. It's a long weekend! It feels so good to be able to say that. This weekend has been great and I don't want it to end. I am going to take full advantage of the extra day.

After I finished typing up my post yesterday, I made sure to do something fun! I took the Christmas decor out of storage (or at least what was left of it) and started putting up the Christmas tree.

It felt so good to put everything up. I will be buying more decor as the season progresses. I know it's early and many of you are thinking that I am crazy for putting stuff up so early. But I love it!

So, the Christmas tree set-up was perfect for the end of Saturday. I went to bed and slept so well! I was not ready to wake this morning and was surprised when Colon got up early. He is doing some kind of race/ marathon in the future and had a workout this morning. Poor boy actually had to wake early for it.

I stayed in bed and lazed around for a few and then finally got my butt up and did a few household chores. I then sat and read while I waited for my friend to be ready for a library trip. We ended up having a quick Sonic lunch and stayed at the library for an hour. It was amazing! I picked out so many books and am looking forward to dive into them. I got a new library card (for the Phoenix library system) and am proud to be an owner of 2 library cards! I even have been posting library/book-related posts on my Tumblr page!

I hope you all have been having a great day/ weekend!

I will leave you with some fun links to get you through your day...

Cash...Cash anyone?

Sent to me by Colon.
I want to watch Mulan now!
Netflix, Here I come!

Long weekends just evoke feelings of extreme happiness.

The weekend started with a bang on Friday.

After work, Colon and I came home and relaxed for a few. We then made our way to eat a quick dinner at Chipotle*. Yummy!
Once we got home, it was time to rush because we had tickets to see Cash Cash at Maya. I got all dressed up and we went out. I had a great time. During the dancing, inflatable cats, ice cream, etc were being thrown around. They even had confetti falling from the ceiling. At one point, I had my hands in the air when the confetti was falling. All of a sudden, I felt something in my hand. Dollar bills were falling along with the confetti. I managed to get $4! SCORE!

Last night, I made out big.
Time spent with Colon.
Great music.

I would have even had an inflatable doll to take home if it wasn't for security taking it from my hands.

Anyways. We went to bed pretty late last night. But we still woke up at a reasonable time this morning. We had to. The Gator game was on. It was so hard to watch that game and we settled for phone updates by the time half time came. Our team was suffering and we, as die-hard Gator fans, were suffering along with them.

After half-time, we made our way to the Sprint store. We were only supposed to look at phones. Colon upgraded his phone during the summer and I was FINALLY up for upgrade! The thing is Colon has had his eye on the new Google phone that came out recently. He wanted me to take his Samsung Galaxy S4 and he would either use my upgrade to get that phone or buy the new Google phone directly from Google.

So, we went to look at phones. Ever since I saw that the Samsung Note 3 came out, I knew I had to have it. BUT I knew Colon wanted to get the new Google phone, so I hesitated. Why not let him use my upgrade and I take his relatively new S4? We weighed the options and decided, I would get the phone that I wanted. YES! It is awesome.

After lunch, we headed home and I played with my new phone the rest of the day. Such a great weekend so far! I love spending time with Colon and that is what this weekend has consisted of!

Now, I am sitting here reading articles, typing away, while listening to the following playlist.
My dad actually bought this CD for me when it came out. I think it may have been my first CD ever. I was quite young and am surprised by the lyrics of some of the songs on this album. But hey, her voice is just amazing.

Now, I am going to go bother Colon! He deserves it!

*I love Chipotle and have indulged in its goodness ever since they opened one in Gainesville, Florida. But I am noticing that the restaurants out here deliver TERRIBLE customer service. They are lucky I love the food as much as I do!

I can never get enough...

It's Friday and I am ready for the weekend.
Ready for relaxation.
Ready for fun!
Ready for the massive amounts of reading time.

It's a long weekend. SO... of course there will be reading time.

Reading time has been filling my mind lately. I have just been in the "reading mood". It has been amazing. I am going through books as if they were a few words long. I am not going to question it. I am just going to keep reading until I get sick of it.

Since my last update, I read 4 stories. Lady of the English by Elizabeth Chadwick was another historical fiction. I cannot get enough of them and this one did not disappoint.

The Wayward Muse by Elizabeth Hickey. During one of my trips to the library, I noticed that this book was being featured. So, I did what everyone does. I checked out the book cover and read the synopsis within the book sleeves. Based on the synopsis, I was excited to read this book. As I started reading, my first thought was... "this is not what I expected". The happenings were slow and I was not a fan of the characterization. I never was able to find a character to relate to and hated the decisions that the characters made. I just was unable to "enjoy" this book.

Blue Asylum by Kathy Hepinstall. My Gosh. I was SO DISAPPOINTED when I realized I was coming to the end of this book. I was shocked by how well written this book was. It took me back to my high school days when I had to dissect the book for literary devices the helped progress the story. There was so much hidden in this book. So much juxtaposition. So many themes. With this book, Kathy Hepinstall became one of my favorite authors.

A Winter's Knight by Elizabeth Cole. An extremely short story that can be found in the freebie Amazon Kindle book list. Cute. Simple.

I feel bad for adding that last one. It was so short but it was cute. And I never set rules on how long the stories had to be to be added to my "read" list.

So yes. I am on to another book and am having trouble putting it down. I'll update again soon!

Happy end of the week/ weekend y'all!
