Back to real life...

Back to work. Back to real life. At least it was for me.

Yesterday was amazing. Relaxing. Quiet. The perfect Christmas.

I woke up and immediately called my family. First, I called my sisters. They all traveled to Florida to spend Christmas with my mom. It was awesome to catch up with them and to hear them joking around with each other. To be honest, I was kind of jealous. hearing them laugh and talk on the phone made me miss them more and made me feel lonely.

Once I got off the phone with them, I called my dad's house. The rest of my siblings live at my dads. They are younger (they range from the age of 14 to the age of 2 years old). It was great hearing their excitement as they told me all about their gifts! I wish I could have seen them open their gifts! Again, another moment where I felt so alone.

I then called Colon. PUNK DID NOT ANSWER.

I tried again. Nothing.

I was getting upset!

But, as soon as I got off of the phone, I was fine. I made myself something to eat, put on Christmas movies to watch and proceeded to sort through the gifts under the tree. I made it a point to set my gifts from Colon aside. I wanted to open those gifts with him here.

After gift opening, I relaxed around the house and enjoyed a good book.

I called Colon again.  NO ANSWER. Patience diminishing.

I then got a text from my coworker. She invited me to her families Christmas dinner and I happily agreed to hang out with her family. It was great. the food was so yummy and her family was so sweet. I am so grateful for a friend like her and truly do appreciate her family allowing me to come to their Christmas dinner!

When I got home, I saw that Colon had called me a couple of times during the day. I called him back but got no answer. What i received was a message on Google Hangouts from him. He said it was critical for me to look under his keyboard. Under the keyboard there was an envelope with 3 Qr codes insides.

After running them a couple of times, I found that one told me to be at the location mentioned in QR code 2 at 11 tonight. IT MEANT HE WAS COMING HOME!

I was so excited and so surprised! Such a great Christmas gift!

NO WONDER he didn't answer the phone earlier.

Anyways... this post is quite long. I'll leave you guys with another favorite by Pentatonix... how do they always make me fall in love with songs?

Although, I love original!

Hope everyone's Christmas is just as amazing as mine was!

It's almost here...

Christmas. It's almost here!

It's Christmas Eve.

I love this day.
One more day...
One more sleep...
until Christmas day.

Today is even more special because it is my brothers birthday.
14 years old.
he is getting so big.
I love you so much Pachi!
I hope today was amazing.
I know you spent it with dad, your mom, and your younger sisters.
Just know that I (and all of your older sisters) love you and have been thinking of you all day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY little brother!

Today has been busy. Work was crazy. I was exhausted when I left.
I am so grateful to my friend Alex. She invited me to her family get together today.
Good food and amazing company.
I could not have asked for more.

Now, I am settling in for the night. I have called and spoken with my family.
Time for a good book and some background music.

Can't wait for Christmas day to come!

Merry Christmas everybody!

How I am feeling right now...

I was in a minor accident on Friday. REALLY minor. No one was hurt. Just my car. The rear bumper is completely dented in. My back door is dented in. the tire case that is on my back door is cracked. The paint on my car is cracked. It is a mess.

I love my car. There are so many memories with that car. I remember when my dad first got it. I remember driving to work with my dad when I worked at his company one summer. I learned to drive in that car. So many memories. It has been through so much. It's a trooper.

But my love for my car is beside the point.

I was at an intersection. The light was green but traffic was congested. The car in front of me could not go unless he wanted to be in the middle of the intersection. So, we were stopped. The person behind me was not paying attention and rear ended me.

Police were called. Information was exchanged.

And now I have to deal with insurance companies. I have to pay a $500 deductible and now have to work around my schedule to get my car repaired. Not a big deal, but annoying and frustrating nonetheless.

============================RANT OVER!===============================

This weekend was relaxing. I laid in bed. Read a little bit. Watched TV. Did some arts and crafts.

In my last post I showed the picture of my homemade makeup palette. If you are a long time reader, then you know that I am kind of obsessed with makeup. I do not wear too much but I still buy. I pick something new up every time I enter the store. It's kind of sick how much makeup I have. A week or two ago, I was organizing my makeup when I found a stash of eyeshadows, blushes and bronzers that I did not even know I had. That was when I knew it was time for me to buy or make a palette so i can see everything I have when I get ready in the morning.

So, I made my palette Friday night after work. I spent Saturday morning de-potting my makeup and now all my makeup is accessible!

Saturday afternoon was spent with one of my good friends. We planned on a trip to Michaels for yarn (I'm making her a beanie) but it turned into a dinner and shopping date. She treated me to The Old Spaghetti Factory. It was my first time there and it was oh so yummy!

We then headed to the outlets. I have been searching for Colon's gift and finally found what I was looking for. Cannot wait until he opens his gift.

Speaking of gifts.... look what I got in the mail...

Totally unexpected and completely grateful! Hearts to Ms. Teacher from Tragic and Lovely. I am saving this baby until Christmas!

Now all I have to do is get through the next two days to enjoy Christmas!

Oh Yeah. I am excited.

My poor car...

Longest day ever.
Got a lot done.
Worked a lot.
Someone ran into me today.
Neck hurting.
Body aching.
More details to come soon.

For now, I am resting and reading up on de-potting makeup to add to my home-made magnetic palette!

Since I am boring and have nothing else to say, I leave you with...

Loving the quote that Mrs. Teacher posted!

I need to buy a Doctor Who onesie!

Got out of work early and lounged around the house for a few hours. I had so much to do and no will to do it.

I found solace in searching the web and sat for such a long time watching make-up and DIY Youtube videos!

During my video watching marathon, the ZPalette came to mind. I have been wanting one for months. I always do the thing where I go to a website (usually  a make-up site), create a shopping cart and then chicken out when it comes time to pay. I have done this several times on the ZPalette site. It's embarrassing.

I started to make another list and had the hardest time choosing among this this and this. After creating the shopping cart and searching for my credit card, I decided that I would try a DIY Z Palette. Did you see the prices in the links? So, that is one of the things I will be working on while Colon is in Florida.

Yup, he leaves tomorrow. We spent the rest of the night shopping for Christmas clothes for him. We then started to do laundry and pack. He is still packing now.

I hate that he is leaving. Yet, am excited for all of the crafting I will get done!

I'm gonna tell him... Don't you dare

Just because I loved the movie so much...

Do YOU wanna build a snowman????

You can fix this fixer upper up with a little bit of love...

"Put me in summer and I'll be a... HAPPY SNOWMAN"

This movie was great!
I cannot stop humming the songs!

Alone for the holidays...?

9 days until Christmas.

3 days until Colon leaves for Florida.

Yup. You read that last sentence right.

I found that out yesterday. I knew Colon would be leaving for the holidays. At first, I planned on spending the holidays with him but after we went through a rough patch, I decided it was best for him to do his own thing for the holidays.

Honestly, it came down to me not being able to face his family. It was hard for me when his parents were here a few weeks ago. I know he talked to them about our problems and I still do not know what they think of me. Do they like me? Do they think ill of me? Am I good enough for their son? It means so much to me that they like me. I love them and respect them.

Anyways... I also did not want to pressure him into spending the holidays with me. We are doing ten times better, but the rough patch set us back a bit. We are trying to rebuild.

So...I opted to stay here in Arizona for the holidays. I don't know who's going to be in town. I don't care. I am excited for the time here. I'm a loner and will definitely find something to do while Colon is gone... ( key). He'll be gone until the day after Christmas.

Any ideas on what I should do to occupy my time?

Crazy Whoville hair!

10 days until Christmas.
It is crazy how fast time is flying by!

After my day off, the days flew by.

Friday was BUSY!

As always, I had an early work meeting so my day started earlier than usual. The day took a lot out of me. When I got home all I wanted to do was relax. Spend time with Colon. Maybe cuddle. But Colon asked about out plans to see Frozen, and I knew I was willing to give up cuddle time for a trip to the movies.

I honestly had never heard of Frozen, until I was driving to work earlier in the week. I listen to a certain radio show and they were talking about how good this movie is. I then had a couple of clients rave about this movie, so I decided that I had to see the newest Disney movie!

After we bought our snacks (so expensive...) we watched the movie. We laughed so much during the movie. It was so good. I left quoting lines and would not stop pretending to freeze things. I drove Colon crazy!

Via Instagram!

I definitely think you should go watch this movie. It is too cute to pass up!

Saturday was full of work. I volunteered during the day (starting at 8) and then headed straight to a work event. For this work event, each team had to create a 3 minute holiday movie that incorporated company slogans, mantras, etc.

We based our movie on Dr. Suess's How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The event also had an ugly sweater contest. So, we decided to use the same onesies from the movie for our team ugly sweater. We even did our hair in crazy whoville style!

This is how I reacted when I first saw the finished product:

Via Instagram

Seee... I was scared!
This is at the end of the night. One last picture!

Via Instagram

See... CRAZY!

The event was so much fun. It made me realize how close our team is. We were laughing and cracking inside jokes throughout the event. I love my team and am definitely thankful to be working with them. the only thing that bothered me was that I was away from home from 8am to 10pm. I was exhausted and missed Colon. I really wanted to spend time with him.

After the event I was supposed to go out with Colon. There was a surprise birthday party/ excursion that we were invited to. Colon went at the specified time and I said I would meet up after my event. That was the plan!

I got home. Called Colon to let him know I was taking a shower, changing, and getting a bite to eat. I showered. Started eating my dinner and decided to lay down for a little bit before I went out. You see, I had a long day and having my hair piled on top of my head gave me a huge headache! So I was going to take a small nap.

I did not wake up. Colon nudged me awake when he came home. No regrets! It felt good to get some sleep and to sleep in today.

Today has been full of bonding and I am relishing every moment. Video games. Eating. Laughing. Such a great day.

Now, I am catching up on blogs and reading articles!
I have come across some interesting things.
Ink bottles mentioned by this lovely lady.
I need to get some.
The same lovely lady mentioned morning journals
I think I will start one!
Sunday Secrets & Classic Secrets from PostSecret: Part of my Sunday reads.

This is getting a little bit long.

So, I will go!

Love you all!

A day off...

Thank God for days off.

I got so much done today.

Colon was supposed to work from home, so we stayed in bed cuddling for a few. He decided to bring his computer to bed so that I could lay down (and be completely lazy) while he worked. Unfortunately, his computer wouldn't ;ink so he had to head into work.

That's OK, though. I probably would not have gotten anything done if he stayed home all day.

I got so much done!

returned library books.

I finished up a beanie!

I got to have lunch with one of my former coworkers. It was awesome seeing her and I loved catching up!

Since I was already out of the house, I decided to pick up boxes and other things for my Christmas presents. I was able to wrap, and send out Christmas presents today. I only spent 15 minutes in the post office!

3 presents left to buy!

Yummy chocolate cake made for Colon. The ingredients were bought a week ago and Colon has been hassling me to make it. It was about time I made it!

Arts and crafts were attempted. I love the finished product!

Now to go back to work tomorrow.
Not looking forward to it!
At least the week is over tomorrow!

Dreaming of Flagstaff...

I'm still dreaming about Flagstaff. I took this picture on the way back to Phoenix this weekend. Just beautiful!

I still feel bad and have been feeling sick the last couple of days. I have been a zombie and have been walking around just to get this week over with. We are so short staffed this week and will be for the weeks to come. That means work will be stressful.

I cannot wait until Christmas. I have most of my shopping done. Just a few gifts left to buy. I cannot believe it's almost Christmas!

I am finally caught up on reading blogs from the last few days.
I saw Mochimochi Land's video and loved it.
I always post about Post Secret.
The Sunday Secrets and Classic Secrets from this week were awesome.
I am still loving the video from this past post.

It's Hump day, y'all!

The weekend ended too quickly.

We were busy throughout the weekend. We both (Colon and I) had volunteering obligations for most of the day on Saturday. It definitely wasn't a relaxing day. But, after work, we decided to take a trip to Flagstaff for some fun in the sun snow.

We ended up leaving Phoenix around 6 or 7pm. We knew it would be COLD and we knew it would be snowing. We had no idea how scary our drive would be. It was so dark driving through the twist and turns. We then realized that we were driving through a snow storm. without snow tires.

4-wheel drive. CHECK.

Snow tires. X.

Somehow we made it and my car did such a good job through the storm. During the drive, I kept taking pictures and squealing because I was loving the snow. It was just so beautiful. I have said it before and I will have to say it again:

I LOVE the snow and wish I lived in it!

We got into Flagstaff pretty late and checked into the hotel around 11:30. Once we picked up our keys, we had to park the car. The parking lot closest to our room was up a pretty steep hill. This is where snow tires would have helped. We could not make it up the hill. So we spent 40 minutes looking for a parking spot. Once we found one we had to walk to our room in the snow.

A few snowballs thrown at each other and we made it to our room. Relief! We were exhausted and fell asleep once we laid down.

1-3. SNOW! How Beautiful!
4. Selfie using my car window. Taken while Colon scraped the windshield.
5. Driving to Flagstaff. Dark. heavy snow. Scary!
6. snow in some shrubs. Just beautiful!
7-8. Snow piled on my car. Colon working hard to get it off!
9. More snow. because I can't get enough!

1. Sky on our way back to Phoenix. So beautiful!
2. SNOW!
3. He had just thrown a snowball at me.
4 and 6. Playing in the snow. Trying to make a snowball to throw at me.
5. the "Stop taking pictures of me" face.
7. Icicles on my car!
8. Flagstaff clock. Thought it was cool.
9. My car, Colon, and snow.

The next morning, we made sure we ate A LOT from the complimentary hotel breakfast and headed out  to Snowbowl! I decided not to ski because I woke up feeling sick, but I knew Colon had waited for this all year. He has been waiting to hit the slopes and he finally got his chance.

I holed up in the ski lodge and went out to play in the snow a couple of times. I just love it!

We left the mountain around 3pm and stopped at our favorite Thai restaurant for lunch! So yummy!

It was sad leaving Flagstaff. It started to snow as we were heading out and it made me so sad. It was as if the town was saying "Don't leave!".

Oh... how I wanted to stay.

I have been thinking about Flagstaff everyday this week.
I hope your weekend was just as amazing as mine!

A girl who feeds her addiction for fiction...

Isn't this the best video?
If I was a guy, I would want a girl who reads!

Anyways... I could not wait to tell you about these two books that I read. Both of these books were hard to put down. I was obsessed and kept thinking about them when I was at work or doing other things. both of the books followed the women in Henry VIII's life. We all know that I love that period in history!

November ended and so did my blogging streak.
I have been checking my Bloglovin everyday but have not written or posted anything.
I am not going to apologize though. Cause it wouldn't be sincere. I have had a great book holding my attention when I have not been working or spending time with Colon.

I have also been watching Hart of Dixie. LOVE. THAT. SHOW. It reminds me of home (so close to Alabama!). I have only seen up to the middle of the second season. Cannot wait to get caught up!

The weekend started once I stepped out of work. I am so glad. This week crawled by yet this year has been FLYING by. It's weird. I have been thinking about that a lot lately. Especially at work. How is it already December?

I have no idea what the weekend will bring. It has been so cold here in Phoenix and I have been loving it. Scarves. Sweaters. Jackets. Tights.
Love the clothes that I "have" to wear now! So comfy!

With this cold weather, comes snow in Flagstaff. This means that Colon and I may take a trip up to the snow! OH YEAH!

I promise I will keep you updated.

before I go, I have some fun links...
I used to love Winnie the Pooh
the last one was sent from Colon.
He also sent me one featuring Ariel
Colon really does not want to live in the snow
I laughed so hard!
Just when I think I'm out, his cheeks pull me back in!
Just so you know, all the links above were sent to me by Colon this week.
Isn't he funny?
My favorite is the link with Tina from Bob's Burgers!

Everyday, I look forward to the random messages that Colon sends me through Google Hangouts.

They are usually memes, pictures or anything crazy that he knows will make me laugh!

Since I have very little to say today...

here are a few things to make you smile!

What would you do if you found out you married your sibling?

I only date beasts...

The worst...

...blogger in the world.

That's me!

I FORGOT to post on the last day of NaBloPoMo. Horrible. Just horrible.

I was just in my own little world. Work. Window shopping. Partying. My life is soooo busy.

It's weird not having Colon here. He comes back tomorrow and I cannot wait.

Lately I have been into knitting and crochet projects. It was inspired by the giveaway on DecoyBetty's blog AND our trip to Flagstaff last weekend. Beanies, gloves, scarves, and berets galore.

I wish I lived in the snow!

Sunday Secrets by PostSecret are a must for Sundays!
I hate selfish people! This selfish person got what was coming to her.
Some awesome quotes that I stumbled upon on a lovely blog!

I didn't know that trains still derailed

Apparently, living in snow and ice can be dangerous.
Colon sent me a meme the other day.
I still want to live in snow!
It just seems so magical.

Thanksgiving was great. I was so worried that I would be alone for Thanksgiving, but I wasn't. I woke up after a great nights rest. I was relaxed and excited to have a calm and lazy Thanksgiving. I texted my friend and let him know that he could come over whenever he was ready.

While I waited, I started the Turkey and pumpkin pies. Before I put everything in the oven, there was a knock on my front door. My friend was over and that was when our Firefly marathon started. We watched the show while everything cooked. When I realized that I was going to have an extra person for Thanksgiving, we decided to make our way to Walmart. I wanted to get potatoes for mashed potatoes.

Yes. We ventured to the grocery store on Thanksgiving. There was hardly anybody there. Which was perfect.

When we got back home, the Firefly marathon continued. We ended up finishing the season which cued us to start our Thanksgiving dinner. Before we dug in, we took a few minutes to say what we were thankful for. It was such a heartfelt moment.

That night, it wasn't hard for me to fall asleep. I felt at peace. Maybe it was the turkey. BUT I want to believe that it was the conversations that me and my friend had before dinner.

... Then I woke up this morning.

I thought this day would never end. I woke up exhausted and dreading this day of work. I wanted to keep celebrating Thanksgiving and stuffing my face! Work was slow and the time crept by.

One of my favorite coworkers put in his two weeks notice two weeks ago and today was his last day. So hard. I hate goodbyes.

I realized that yesterday's post never published. Why?

...and the day finally ended.

Feels good to be home...

PS... It's funny how my attitude went from grateful/ thankful/ optimistic to pessimistic overnight.

Family: Mom, Dad, All of my sisters, My Brother

My coworkers/friends

Being able to have food on the table every day- three times a day!

My health

All of the trinkets that I have and don't need!

This wonderful life

Just to name a few of the things I am thankful for. Life is amazing. Live it to the fullest.

I hope everyone is enjoying their day. While you are stuffing your faces, I hope you are thinking of all of the things that you should be thankful for! That is what this day is all about.

I seem to have left something out of the list. Something worth mentioning...

I am thankful for this blogging world. This blog. YOU!

***AHHH I woke up this morning (11/29) and this did not post yesterday. I am backdating this post! I cannot believe it didn't publish!

Ms. Grumpy Pants.

I woke up early to take Colon to the airport before work. Colon waited until AFTER I WAS DRESSED to tell me he will take himself to the airport. Sucks that I can't just go back to bed!

Work was stressful and I just was not into it today. I was dragging my feet.

After work, I had a coworker help me drive to the airport and pick up Colon's car. I totally forgot that there would be Thanksgiving travel traffic at the airport.

Colon told me he parked his car in the West Economy parking lot. After searching the WHOLE parking lot, we FINALLY found an attendant. He let us know that the parking space number could also be in the East Economy lot. After making our way through the airport traffic, we found Colon's car in the East Economy parking lot.

Total time it took us to find his car: 45 minutes.

Now, I am going to relax and have a great night.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I want to make sure I start that day in optimism!

A weekend to remember...

This weekend was amazing.
Colon's parents were in town and we made sure to show them a good time.

They arrived late on Thursday night. I was not able to greet them because I had an early start to Friday (aka.... Friday meetings. Not fun!)

Friday started off like any other Friday. Excited about the weekend but begrudging the fact that I have to wake up for the Friday meetings. Work was actually tolerable. Long but tolerable. I was able to make it out by 6:30 and arrived home to see Colon and his parents hanging out. They were waiting for me to get home so we can head out to dinner.

We ended up having dinner at The Roaring Fork. Colon and I went there once before and were amazed by how delicious the food is. The portions are HUGE and the price is great for the portion sizes!

After dinner, we all went straight to bed. We has our tummies full and were exhausted from the day. Plus we planned on getting up early to start the weekend adventures.

Would you be surprised if I told you that getting up early was a fail? We ended up getting up at around 9. Then we had to take the time to pack clothes for the cold weather. We knew Sedona would be cold and we heard that Flagstaff had snow. Once we had everything ready, we headed out.

Let me warn you. A recurring theme of the weekend was car sickness. I LOVE car rides and drives but get extremely sick in the back seat. That is why I always got the front seat when I traveled with my family. It was not the case this weekend.

It was hard for me to enjoy the scenery on the way to Sedona and Flagstaff. It was kind of miserable.

But that is OK.

Once we got out of the cars, I had a blast.

Our first stop was Sedona. We hiked a couple of trails and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I even heard about the "vortexes" and their healing powers from fellow hikers.

DO you know anything about that? I had never heard of it. People were freaking out when they saw two little water spouts from between the rocks that were cause by hydro-static pressure. Supposedly that is a good sign!

Sedona just leaves me in awe. So beautiful.

We ended up driving through the main part of town and having lunch at Wildflower. It was cold out and the soup was a great way to suppress our hunger and warm up. We were going to head straight to Flagstaff, but I wanted to visit a trading post that we visited the last time we came to Sedona.

The place is called Clear Creek Trading Company. Go ahead. Click on the link. Look at all of the cool stuff they have. They have so much more in the store. I could spend hours in there and could spend so much money at the store! I ended up buying my sisters and mothers Christmas gifts! I am excited to give it to them.

Once we finished up at the store, we made our way to Flagstaff. SNOW! I was so excited.

There was light snow as we got closer to Flagstaff! Once we got into town, we decided to walk around the downtown area. We ended up at a shopping center and went inside because it was so cold. Plus, we have to remember that Colon's parents are from Miami. They aren't used to the cold.

One of the stores that we visited was P.J. Chilcottage. One of the last times we were in Flagstaff (earlier this year), we stopped in this store. I fell in love with everything that the store had. The clothes were cute. The accessories were right up my alley. I couldn't help but buy something last time and I sure as hell couldn't help it this time. I ended up buying a few bow-headbands and a solid perfume.

After we shopped, we headed to our favorite Thai restaurant, Pato Thai Cuisine,  in Flagstaff. We have visited this restaurant during every Flagstaff trip and thought it would be fitting to take Colon's parents to eat there. I can still remember the first (I briefly mention it in that link) time we ate there.

That night, everyone passed out. Except for me. I kept waking throughout teh night because the bed was uncomfortable and I was freezing. By the time it was waking time, my eyes had bags under them and I was ready to head back to Pheonix.

That went away, though. Colon took us up the mountain to Snowbowl and we played in the snow for quite a while. It was amazing.

I want to live in the snow now!

But, all trips must come to an end. We had to make our way back Phoenix. We made a pit stop in Flagstaff and then trekked back to Phoenix.

Colon's parents then caught their flight and Colon and I were once again alone. We slept well last night and pretty much recovered.

He had an amazing birthday. We had a memorable weekend.

I had today off.

Work starts tomorrow. Back to the real world.

Colon leaves for California on Wednesday. He has a retirement party to go to. So, I will be here for Thanksgiving.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I sure did!

That is what I do to books.

I devour them.

It's insane. I have finished 5 books in the last week or two. I know you are probably sick of my reading list. I promise I am not bragging. I do this for those people that want a few suggestions for their reading list!

Most of the books on today's list are historical fictions set in England/ France. They mostly have to do with the Yorks, Lancaster's and the Tudors. I love English history and love the way that authors give personalities to those people that helped shape England.

I would definitely recommend these books!

Her Highness the Traitor- Susan Higginbotham
Mistress of Mourning- Karen Harper
Susanna and the Spy- Anna Elliot
The Queen of Last Hopes- Susan Higginbotham
The Tent- Margaret Atwood

Get to reading people! There is so much you are missing out on!

A week ago, I was nominated for the Sunshine Award. I had so much fun answering the questions that Decoybetty posed. I also had fun coming up with questions to ask for those that I tagged. I thought it would be fun to answer the questions that I came up with.

It's only fair!

1. Growing up, which parent were you the closest to? Did this change at any time?

I was always closer to my dad growing up. Although he enforced rules, he was easier to talk to. More accepting. He listened to us. My mom was more controlling.

As we got older, I think the roles changed.

Now, I wish I was closer to both of my parents. I am the person that is keeping myself distant. I want to change that.

2. Do you believe in "Love at first sight?" Do you think it happens?

I honestly do not know if I beleive in it or not. I did not experience it. So, for now, I will attribute "love at first sight" to books!

3. What period of history is your favorite? Why?

I would say the Tudor era in England. The clothing. The drama. So much fun. Deadly. But fun!

(If you see the books I read, then this answer wouldn't surprise you!)

4. If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be?

My eyebrows. They HAVE to be tamed every week and a half. If they aren't, I start to look like a lion!

5. What is your favorite fast food place?

In-N-Out. So yummy! I don't know how I lived 15 years without it. The East coast needs to get with it!

6. If you could live in any country, where would you live? If it isn't the country you currently live in, why did you choose another country?

I love living in the US. If I couldn't live here, I would probably chose England or France. I Love the history of the countries and would spend my days visiting areas with rich history!

7. How many kids do you want to have? Boys? Girls?

I want at least 2 kids. I would like to have one boy and one girl. At least one of each gender!

8. Can you do a push up?

It's so sad. I cannot!

9. Who is the most influential person in your life? How have they influenced you?

I would say my parents. They both have gone through so much and have given up things for each of their children. They keep me going and inspire me to be the best person I can be!

10. Why did you start blogging? Has your motivation for blogging changed as time goes on?

My answer is here!

And cut!

I will be updating about this weekend spent with Colon's parents really soon!

It's everywhere.

At work.
At school.
At home.
In the blog world.
In this part of the world.
In that part of the world.

Amongst women.
Amongst men.

Who has the best numbers?
Who has the best grades?
How many do you have?
Is that a designer bag?
How big is your house?
How long is your hair?
How pretty is she?
How much money do you have?
What is your degree in?
How many followers do you have?
How many kids do you have?
What kind of car do you have?
How about your phone?
Oh, you don't get your nails done everyday?

Some people are ruthless.

...and mean.

Some people don't care about anyone but themselves.

Some people will do anything to get ahead.

It's sad.
It's annoying.
It's rude.
It's selfish.

I am sick of it!

Rant over.

Just enjoy the world and be happy.

...that tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Colon's parents are coming in tonight. I am excited. The house is clean as clean as I can make it.

We're going to have fun this weekend!
PLUS the Day of the Doctor plays this weekend.

AND it's Colon's birthday on Saturday.

I leave you with these two gems!

Girls can be engineers too! Awesome commercial!
Tears under a microscope.

Onesies and Whos....

I am finally home!

Such a long day yet it was a great day. I woke up with energy and was ready for whatever the day brought.

I totally forgot that today was going to be extra long!

Every quarter, my company has a "Market rally" where they have each team do something fun. this year the "fun" thing was a 3 minute movie. We were allowed to pick the theme, but we had to incorporate everyone within the team. So, in the spirit of Christmas, we chose to do The Grinch...

... and we got to dress as Whos!

So, after work we donned our onesies, fluffed and braided our hair, put on massive amounts of blush and started filming.

I have come to the conclusion that onesies are awesome!

Oh and it's the end of Wednesday! The week ends in a couple of days and Colon's parents come tomorrow! Eek.

Just another day...

I get to relax.
Today was a crazy day.
I had a late start to my work day.
But I still had errands to run before my work day could begin.

I even got my eyebrows done. I was looking pretty rough!

My work day went smoothly.
Except for the fact that the girl that did not show up on Saturday, no called-no showed today.
She then quit.
So annoying.

After work, Colon and I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch his team (Ecuador) play a match.
I love wings and was excited to scarf down.
It was fun meeting his friends, too!

While we were watching the game, I kept looking at COlon's face because something seemed different.

I looked.

I kept looking.

I stared.

And finally, I figured it out. His facial hair is longer and thicker. NO BUENO! Not a fan. He doesn't look bad, but I know he will be rubbing his face on my cheek because he knows how much it annoys me later.

Now I am ready to pass out!
Maybe read a few chapters of my book.

Sorry I have been so uninteresting lately.

Can it be Friday yet?

I can already tell that this week is going to be loooooong!

Today dragged by and it took everything in me to keep going!

Colon's parents come in Thursday night and his birthday is this weekend! I am totally excited for the fun we are going to have! Plus... Colon will be 26!

Since it's Monday and I do not have much to say, I will just leave you with a couple of interesting links.

I wish my parents put me in gymnastics! Flexibility would be awesome!
And look who wins the nuclear award! The cold war was fun! Yeah right!
(How many exclamation points am I going to use in this post?)
I knew smart phones were good for something!
Con men and the new health care regulations...
Pray for the Philippines!
Exercise and how it helps babies brains!
No more hangovers? I'm down!
Facebook vs messaging apps
Is the Pope leaving out Conservative Catholics? Interesting.

Hopefully I have something interesting for tomorrow!

Basketball games and tater tots...

1. An amazing book!
2. Are silent farts worse?
3. Colon. No shave November.
4. I hate No Shave November
5. Tater Tots! Sonic
Sunday night.
Why do they come so fast?
I need another day of rest!

This weekend was relaxing and uneventful. But the week ended with excitement. It started with Friday night. I rushed home from work because  Colon won tickets to the Suns vs Nets game. I was so excited because this would be my first ever basketball game (NBA).

It was so much fun. I loved hearing the fans screaming and being crazy. I usually can't watch basketball but it is different watching a game in person. The game was intense. Points were back and forth and the game even went into overtime. I am so glad that I am not invested in any of the teams because I would have had a heart attack!

After the game, Colon and I went and picked up Sonic for dinner! Tater tots!

I don't know if it was the Tater tots or the excitement of the game, but I could not sleep that night. I fell asleep quickly but ended up waking at 1 AM.  Tossing and turning. I could not get back to bed. It was horrible because I had obligations in the morning and had to leave my house by 8. I picked up my Kindle and read until I fell asleep (around 5AM). I was so tired in the morning. And was miserable throughout the day during work/ volunteering.

I do have to say that  it annoys me when people do not show up for things when they sign up for them. I was tired and grouchy on Saturday and that only made me grouchier.

Anyways, after work I headed home in time to watch the Gator football game with Colon. It was disappointing at times and I ended up falling asleep by 7:30- 8PM. I slept the rest of the night.

...And didn't wake until 9AM this morning. I was tired!

Once we woke up, we started the household chores. Laundry was started. The floors were vacuumed and mopped. The kitchen counters were cleaned. Bathrooms were cleaned. Everything was wiped down for the impending visit from Colon's parents. They will be here on Thursday night and I want to make sure everything is spotless!

I forgot to mention that I watched The Hunger Games. FINALLY. The books were ten times better!

I also am obsessed with the ABC Family cheesy Christmas movies and was excited to see that some of them are on Netflix. So I watched a couple of them during my cleaning day.

It was a great weekend. I hope this week goes fast cause I am excited for next weekend and the visit from Colon's parents.

I hope you all had a great weekend!
