365 Days of Happiness July 26-August 2

Doesn't this picture make you want a milkshake? Can you say "Steak and Shake"? OK, I'll put a pause to my milkshake craving for now, so that I can continue my list of indelible happiness.

Monday July 26

MMHMMM... SO yummy!!!!I was doing my grocery shopping the other day and saw the peaches. They were staring at me and saying "eat me, I am delicious". Of course, I was skeptical. I cant recount how many times I have bought peaches and they were not up to par. BUT, this time they were actually sweet and juicy and AMAZING!! That first bite killed my ability to not give into cravings. I crave peaches twice a day, and have been back to Publix to buy peaches 3 days later. BUT, I DO NOT regret it. Peaches are amazing.

Tuesday July 27

Vanilla Milkshakes

My friend and I take a trip to Steak and Shake every other week (sometimes more often when we are not busy). But, we always get milkshakes. Vanilla milkshakes are the best. Especially the cherries on top. I always ask for extra cherries.

Wednesday July 28

I can never decide whether I like purple or green grapes. Both are good, and I can never get enough.

Thursday July 29

Legend of the Seeker

This might seem so nerdy, but I love this show. When I start watching the show, I can never stop. The women are beautiful and I love (the body) of Richard. i am just kidding about the body, but I love the characters. It kind of reminds me of Lord of the Rings.
Friday July 30

Marble Towers

I was babysitting the other night and the two boys showed me their marble towers. They were so cool. You basically build a tower with various routes that the marbles can go. You then test out teh tower with your collection of marbles. I had a blast!

Saturday July 31

Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream

Can you say YUMMY. The combination of mint and chocolate is amazing.

Sunday August 1

Werther's Original hard candies

The other day at work, my boss offered me a Werther's Original hard candy. These candies remind me of my grandfather. We would always eat these candies together.

Monday August 2

So, for all of you non-Filipino friends, this is my favorite dish. It is one of the most amazing dish. I especially love it when the meat just falls apart when you touch it with the fork. It is just amazing. There is also a famous (among close friends, family, and my boyfriend) story behind this dish. I decided to cook it one day, and left it on teh stove for too long. I ACTUALLY BURNED A STEW!!! Go figure. Only I could do something like this.

So, hopefully you enjoyed my list and hopefully something on this list makes you happy also.

365 Days of Happiness July 19-25

My happiness has grown every day and I am noticing that this task (of finding at least one thing that makes me happy every day) is successful. So far, I have found that I am more optimistic and am finding out more about myself each day. Because of this I am more willing to continue this task and am going to relay to you this portion of the list. Some of the items on the list, are relatively new. That is, they have entered my life recently and have interested me and given me hours and hours of entertainment.

Monday July 19

Being Employee of the Month

I have just recently started a new job and was extremely nervous about it. I not only wanted to prove to myself that I can do a great job, but I wanted to do a great job for my boss and my fellow workers. I always put pressure upon myself when it comes to my job. For if I do a great job, it not only reflects upon myself, but on the company I work for. I represent the company. Thus, it was such an honor to be named Employee of the Month for the company I work for. This truly made me happy.

Tuesday July 20

The scent of Gain

I don't know what it is about the scent of Gain, but it is amazing. Every time I take my laundry out of the dryer, I always have to stop and smell the clean clothes. This always puts a smile on my face.

Wednesday July 21

"As Time Goes By"

Such a beautiful song. I remember watching "Casablanca" for the first time and when Sam played that song, it made me smile. It was so romantic, yet sad.

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply,
As time goes by.

And when two lovers woo,
they still say, "I love you"
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by

Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date
Hearts full of passion
jealousy and hate
Women needs a man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny

It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will welcome lovers
As time goes by

Beautiful. I just love. you will constantly find me humming the tune to this song. I suggest you go and listen to it if you have not heard it. Then, after you have listened to it, watch "Casablanca".

Thursday July 22

The Tudors

I absolutely love this show. I love the settings, the costumes, and especially the fact that it encompasses a time period in English history that I have always loved. Although, I am pretty sure the real King Henry VIII was not as handsome as Jonathan Rhys Meyers and that he did not have a body like Rhys Meyer. BUT, he did have an interesting life that included 6 wives. 2 of which were executed and 2 of which he divorced from. The show depicts the controversies of his life, and the events that took place within the time period of his first two marriages that shaped the future of England its relationship with the Catholic Church. The show does this and also grasps your interest and lures you into the show. When an episode is over, you crave more. This is why I love the show. AMAZING and I love it.

Friday July 23

If you have read my previous blog entries, you will know how much I love this show. I love that it is a musical and that they do a great job with the songs that the sing. I love the drama. Yes, I said it. This show has me hooked.

Saturday July 24

So, I really like this show. I started watching it because I was quite unfamiliar with the legend of Merlin. So, I decided to watch the show and get a rough education. I really do enjoy the show and usually can't wait to get off of work or school to watch it.

Sunday July 25

Reading up on the history of Britain

I really do enjoy English history and find myself reading books pertaining to certain time periods. I think it may be because, there is so much there. So many happenings, AND that much of US history is linked to Britain. I don't know, I just love it.

So, that's the end for now. Hope you liked. This part of the list had a lot of shows. Go try them out.

"Love is stronger than death even though it can't stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries it can't separate people from love. It can't take away our memories either. In the end, life is stronger than death"

I absolutely love this quote. Death. I have always and am still scared of death. Of dying. Of leaving this world and the people in it that I love. I am scared of the unknown. Reading this quote made me think a little harder. The quote did not stop me from fearing death, but it made me realize that death is not the worst thing in the world. That death is OK when you have lived a life full of love. When you live life full of love you create beautiful memories and death never can take that away. Because when you die, your memory will live on in the people that knew you. the memories that you create with loved ones will stay with you after death.

So, I fear death BUT a little less than before. I will live life and love it. I will create beautiful and amazing memories.

Will you?......

"Flowers... Are a proud assertion that a ray of beauty outvalues all the utilities of the world"
~Ralph Waldo Emerson 1844

I saw this flower and snapped a photo. The yellow is so beautiful and intense. It is open for all the world to see. I strive to be like this flower. Beautiful. Open. Confident.

365 days of Happiness July 6-July 18

Time for the update again. It has been so beautiful outside. Just extremely HOT!!! Many of the things that appear on this list are a direct cause of staying in and being lazy because of the heat. So, here I go...

Tuesday July 6

My boyfriends deodorant

I do not know what it is about the scent of my boyfriends deodorant, but it drives me crazy. I love it. It smells so good.

Wednesday July 7

The smell of Dawn

Yeah, you read it right. I love the smell of the dish washing soap. It smells so good and fresh. I love the fruity, yet not too string scent of Dawn.

Thursday July 8

Cookie Dough

Cookie dough in ice cream. Cookie dough in yogurt. Raw cookie dough. No matter how the cookie dough is, it all ends up in the same place. MY STOMACH. It is sooo good. Cookie dough is my comfort food. I turn to it for comfort when I am sad, depressed, lonely, etc. If you have not had cookie dough, I suggest that you try it. It is AMAZING!!!

Friday July 9

Chocolate Chip cookies

So, I'm guessing that you just read that cookie dough makes me happy. And, now you see that cookies make me happy. So, linking the clues will tell you that I made cookies yesterday (and snacked on some of the dough) and am now about to devour a (or rather a few) cookie(s). You can never eat just one cookie. The scent of the baking cookies is heavenly, and the taste of the cookies fulfills the promise that the scent has enticed us with.

Saturday July 10

"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine".

How could anyone not know that line. How could anyone watch Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart in this movie and NOT love it! I absolutely love the two amazing actors in the movie and I love the story also. It isn't your typical love story. You do not necessarily get the ending you want. BUT, the ending is perfect. It teaches you the difference between getting what you want and getting what you need. AND the difference between doing what you want versus doing what you have to do no matter if you lose the thing/ person that you want. I definitely recommend this movie if you have not seen it.

Sunday July 11

The Office

If you have read my previous blog entries, then you know how much I love this show. Every time I watch, I laugh. This is a show that one MUST watch. It may not be your favorite show, but you will definitely laugh.

Monday July 12

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

This book is amazing, and the 1940 movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock that was based on the book was also amazing. The book combines a love story with a touch of suspense. I greatly recommend that you read the book and watch the movie.

Tuesday July 13

When Natalia says "Laura"

Natalia is my cute four year old sister. She's smart and funny, and she has the cutest voice in the world. So, it is no wonder that when she says "Laura", my heart melts.

Wednesday July 14

Watching a movie with my little sister

Again, my thing of happiness involves my sister, Natalia. She came to visit the other day and we watched "Anastasia". She had never seen it, and it made me feel so good to sit with her in my laugh and watch the movie together. It felt even better when she turned around and kissed my cheek and said "Laura, you are the best". SO CUTE.

Thursday July 15

Seeing that my sister Alicia is growing up

It has been four years since I have left my mothers home for college. Meaning it has been four years since I have seen my sister EVERY DAY. She has grown up so much in the last four years. She is becoming a beautiful young lady and it makes me so happy to see her come into her own person.

Friday July 16

Butter Pecan Ice Cream

Can you say AMAZING? I do not even know how to describe why I love it so much. I just do.

Saturday July 17

Taking Pictures to record a fun time

I just recently went to Ginnie Springs with a couple of friends and had an amazing time. There weren't many pictures taken, which made the pictures that were taken more special. I think that it is important to take pictures of times that you want to remember. It allows you to always look back and see how you looked, how you dressed, who you were with, what you did. It allows you to reminisce. This is why taking pictures makes me extremely happy. Because I know that I will always be able to look back and remember.

Sunday July 18

Ginnie Springs

As I said before, we went recently and I had the best time. I loved floating down the river. I was able to contemplate life and think about several things that I have been pushing back into the deep dark caves of my mind. the springs were beautiful and reminded me how much I love nature. It was amazing.

Ok, I am done for now.

Summer Delights

Then followed the beautiful season...summer...
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light; and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

It's that time of year again. Sun. Beach. Sand. Can you guess what time of year? If you guessed SUMMER then

you are correct. Summer has always been amazing for me. It was always a time that I got to see my father and spend time at the beach. I am pretty sure that I am NOT the only one who looks forward to summertime.

But, I have noticed that the reasons that I looked forward to summertime have changed significantly over the years. When I was younger, I equated summertime with traveling. Usually traveling to spend time with my father. My sisters and I traveled to many places in South America, the Caribbean and throughout the United States. Summers started off as an adventure. A plane flight to a new place. My sisters and I flying as "unaccompanied minors" together. Being picked up by my father and step mom and reuniting with my half-siblings. Then, it was getting acquainted with the surroundings and just being at my fathers house. As we started to get used to the surroundings, the glamour and glitz always wore off. Things became redundant. But we always loved summer because of the endless beach visits, the endless pool "plays" that we put on, and just because there was no school. There wasn't a curfew, a bedtime, or a time that we would HAVE to wake up by.

Things haven't changed that much. I still see summer as "relaxation" time, but it isn't the same. With growing up, comes responsibilities; Responsibilities that DO NOT go away just because summer decides to make it's entrance into my life. And, although this is true, summer still has it's little delights.

1) Endless reading time

To some, this may not be a summer delight. But it is one to me. Reading is something that makes me feel so good. It pulls me out of my world and brings me into the life of the character in the book. What I love, is that a book can be brought anywhere, and I can read at the beach, at work, etc.

2) Ice cream pit stops

Ever since I was a young girl, summers were always spent with my father. My father took us to the ice cream shop everyday! I might not have daily visits to the ice cream shop, but I always have ice cream in my freezer.

3) Summer fruits

If you have been keeping up with my "365 Days of Happiness" posts, you know that I love fruits. Summer is the time of year when the best fruits are in season. Thus, it is the best time of year to just sit down and relax to a bowl of fruits.

4) Spur of the moment family visits

My family is famous for the random, surprise visits during the summer. Although this is quite hectic, it still is a summer delight. A time to go to the springs to relax and get to know each other.

5) Freedom and More time to hang-out with friends

During the school year, it seems as if there is never enough time to hang out with friends. But, when summer time rolls around, even school nights seem to be free. I think it is just the summer atmosphere. The sense of responsibility seems to fly out of the window even if the amount of work does not change.

There are so many more summer delights and it is sad to think that school is about to start. But,If you can think of any summer delights, feel free to comment

365 Days of Happiness June 21- July 5

Here I am again. Trying to fill you in on my world of happiness. I hope you enjoyed the last round because this round is going to be more exciting. Honestly, I do hope that some of the things on my list can be added to your list. So, here I go...

Monday June 21

Talking on the phone with my sister

This is a rare event. I am sad to say that my sisters and I are not close. Yes, we love each other. Yes, we will always be there for each other. BUT, it cannot be said that we are best friends. So, it makes me so happy when I get to speak on the phone with my sisters.

Tuesday June 22

Telling the truth

Come on. Need I explain how this makes you happy?

Wednesday June 23

Bearing my soul and thoughts to someone I love

When this happens, you feel a closeness with the person you love.

Thursday June 24

This is always an amazing day. I actually feel extremely powerful when payday comes. It maked me feel rejuvinated. Like I can do anything. I think it comes from the security. Security from being able to pay my bills, and rent. When those things are paid I feel safe. Safety=happiness.

Friday June 25

Aren't these flowers beautiful? Everytime I look at them they make me smile. My boyfriend just sent me orchids. Thus giving me more reason to love orchids.

Saturday June 26

Having 1-on-1 time with my mother

When you are younger, you often don't appreciate the moments you have with your mother. When you are one of several children, the one on one moments with your mother are rare. I ahve recently had the pleasure of having my mother all to myself. It was amazing. I loved it.

Sunday June 27

Lazy days watching TV

Is this not incredible? The feeling of being lazy. It gets boring after a while, but one day of lazy bliss does not hurt. especially when there is a marathon of a show that you love.

Monday June 28

Reuniting with an old friend

I love catching up with people. Especially when I have not spoken to them since high school. I love seeing how much people change. How mature they have gotten. How much they have grown up.

Tuesday June 29

I love walking into an antique shop and looking at all of the antiques within. I love picking up a plate or a book and knowing that the thing that I am holding was held by someone else many years ago. That the things that I am holding have histories that I don't know anything about.

Wednesday June 30

Michael Buble

His voice. His songs. They just make me feel tingly inside. I absolutely love his music.

Thursday July 1

Corn on the cob

My mother just recently came to visit and made me corn on the cob. As I was taking a bite into the corn, I realized how much I love corn on the cob. It is sweet, yet not too sweet.

Friday July 2

Finding clothes in your closet that you forgot you had

I know this is kind of crazy, but I love it when this happens. It is as if you went shopping but did not spend any money. Isn't that a great feeling?

Saturday July 3

The United States of America

This may sound crazy, but I am extremely proud to be an American. if you don't like it you can kiss my butt. (jk) But seriously. I love my country and it makes me extremely happy to know that i wake up in the morning in America.

Sunday July 4

I love celebrations. The atmosphere just always seems more cheerful and carefree when a celebration is about to take place. Especially celebrations that involve decorations and FIREWORKS! They are so pretty and I love seeing them light up the night sky. It is amazing and so beautiful.

Monday July 5

I just recently did something that I rarely do. I cut my hair and did not cry when I saw the final outcome. On top of that, I did something different with my hair. I GOT BANGS!!! The last time I had bangs, I was 7 years old. And, I love that I have them now. It is a big difference in my appearance. But I love it!

Ok, I am done. Hope you liked my random list
